Men’s Health magazine named Charleston, West Virginia the most accident-prone city in America. In the current issue, Charleston placed 100th out of 100 cities studied for the survey. The Charleston Gazette ran an article about the ranking here.
Perhaps the large number of Charleston car accidents is due to several major highways meeting right at the city. The Gazette article noted that the Men’s Health survey relied on the number of emergency room visits, which could be unfair to Charleston due to the local hospital treating accident victims from all over West Virginia.
