A person was killed in a car accident on WV Route 61 on Tuesday according to a story in the Beckley Newspaper. A car crossed the center line and struck another car head-on, killing the driver of the other car.

A truck accident on Corridor G in Charleston West Virginia killed one person and injured two others on Tuesday according to a Charleston Gazette article.  

A semi driver lost control of his truck, hit a bridge, crossed the median, and struck a car being driven by Betty Sowards of Sumerco.  According to the newspaper article Brittany Sowards was killed in the crash.

A West Virginia coal miner was killed at the Affinity coal mine of United Coal just outside of Sophia, West Virginia on Tuesday night.  According to the Beckley newspaper, John Myles, a 44-year old Hilltop resident suffered fatal injuries on Tuesday night.  The report states that Myles was struck by a battery-powered scoop.

Three people were injured in a Putnam County, West Virginia car accident on Thursday.  According to the Charleston Newspaper, the accident occurred on WV Route 817 near the intersection of the Stewart Acres development in Winfield.  The road was closed for some time following the accident and a HealthNet helicopter was dispatched to the scene.
